I must share an impression with you, an impression I always have when considering Twilight.
If you're still in high school, please pay attention to lessons you find less important. Care for Your common knowledge.
Go learn a short history of some small distant country. Check what species is that tree you pass by every day. Take some time to find out how to predict weather in Your area.
Value history - it may seem not much important right now, but sooner or later You will find that history tells us more about present than expected.
Finally, physics and math - they are all really nice and rewarding if You only get interested just ONCE and try to figure out something for yourself.
I'm nearly finishing the studies at my University now and I do have perspectives to have a quite challenging work, but - believe me or not - the time I had when I COULD learn about almost everything I wanted in high school (and earlier) is truly priceless and treasured to me now.
Please don't get caught in the trap of "you can find everything on Wikipedia" (although you can, but that's not the point!) and "you won't ever need that in life".
Truth is, everything is important and the older You will get, the more responsibilities you will have. The time to learn as much as You can is now - never ever in Your life will you have such a great opportunity to understand the world around than You have now.
